We left Hervey Bay on an adventure to visit Maryborough, Queensland on Saturday 27th June.
Our main reason was to meet with the SCA & friends who are building a medieval village & soon to have their castle in Tiaro, Queensland.
We took a few snapshots here & there to share with family, friends & the public. Thankfully the rain held off to the very end of the event.
Our son loves trains & it so happened that the Maryborough miniature railway club were getting everything organised for the train rides the next day. One of the operators was quite helpful & willing to share his love of trains to us.
We just had to hop into the magickal forest for a moment or two, pondering of all the people & beings that have visited there before! What secrets do these trees hold??
Well a highlight of the day was that one of the replica medievil chandelier earrings that Janis was wearing became lost for awhile & did not notice until we had left the parklands & were at a shopping centre. So wondering whether or not to revisit the parklands & hopefully reclaim the earring or not! We were concerned for anyone that would find the earring. Woe to the person who picked the earring up as they would of received a curse, not from us intentionally, but because Janis had a bad sinus headache that day, & to top it off it was the left earring that fell off! We drove back to where the  SCA were holding their event & hopped out of the car, I said to Sampe "it will be near the area near the toilets", sure enough we looked down & voil√† there is was, glistening in the rain that had fell on it since it was lost! even though we had walked through forest & in amongst the event area.

SCA members winding up for the day, with Lady Guinevere & Sir Agro, to put a name to the others faces soon.

Sir Agro out of his armour, posing for our request of a photo to show Lady Margaret of 'Riverbend Castle' at Tiaro.

Sir Agro has defeated his opponent in battle & was to give a rose to the Lady of  his choice, the choice was to his own Lady Guinevere, but he was not allowed & had to be someone other than his wife, so he sent his defeated opponent to give Lady Margaret the rose. And to Sir Agro, if you read this please feel free to ask us to correct this story if it may be different.

Well enough notes for today, we will add more photos & stories soon.
